Rick Ross, Ja Rule ( O_O ), and Fat Joe diss 50 cent

This beef bores me. So I've got nothing to write about it. Except: They need to get like Jada because he knows how you can get dragged into beef first hand and has recently stated he wants no part in that. It's a waste of time. I guess we now know who are the high-schoolers of the rap game.

Rock The Bells Lineup Announced

This one's going to be short and sweet, mainly because I'm about to be out of here, and there's not much to say about this...

Rock the Bells announced their lineup for this summer... Nas is headlining it... That's enough for me to buy a ticket. So who's going?

Jada on 106 and Park with NaS

I was just talking with Brownie about this yesterday but your boy Jada won't stop getting coverage on this blog mainly because I think he makes good music and I love the new album and I support real rappers. Anyway, he was on 106 and Park with Nas, the Lox, and Diddy. The first video is of the interview Jada and The Lox, the second vid is of Jada and Nasty Nas.

Soulja Boy gets Protested Against

Ok... I'm no Soulja Boy fan although I'll come out and say I respect what he does. We're the same age, he's rich... I'm not. So I respect what he does. Also, it's been a while since we've had TRUE characters in the rap game, regardless of the music they make. Soulja Boy buzzes...

Anyway, I was making my rounds and stumbled across this article on the famous All Hip Hop blog:

(Click Read More for the whole article)

"The Duluth News Tribune reports the concert, which was held last Friday (April 3) at the school’s Romano Gym, attracted a group of students who staged a protest in response to what they deemed as “degrading lyrics” towards women...

The track contains the lyrics: “Pimp slap dat hoe man, show her what you know man, Give her what she need man right side her face man.”

“This isn’t OK for this to happen,” the UMD student told the Tribune. “To bring in an artist that degrades half the student body as sex objects and the other half as sexual assault perpetrators; that form of degradation is not acceptable.” "

Now... I personally think these people are being a little too sensitive... It's music and if people want to listen to it, then that's their prerogative. If you think the lyrics are too much, don't attend the concert. Don't listen to it. Did they really believe they made a point by doing that stuff? Soulja Boy is still going to sell records (I mean... ringtones) and people are still going to invite him to their shows, concerts, etc... Music is so completely subjective that there was no chance they'd change the minds of the people who already had their minds set on attending that concert. That's like how PETA throws paint on people's furs and now the general public think's theyre all just crazy fanatics... I know GIRLS that listen to Soulja Boy and other "degrading" artists. If it's catchy, you can tap your foot to it, it's music and thats all some people need...

With that said, Death to the EMO stuff... Stop being bitchmade...

Jadakiss: The Last Kiss

If you know anything about something (I'm going to be using that a lot from here on), you know that Jadakiss's album The Last Kiss is releasing tomorrow, April 7th, after being pushed back from an original March 10th release date.

Jadakiss, right now, is one of the foremost rappers still doing it... I'm not discrediting Soulja Boy but Jadakiss might have that number one spot in this moment. He murks any song as far as content and flow goes, he also murks any remix, and even sexes RnB songs. Damn.

If you haven't heard Kiss My Ass the mixtape, check it out here (from NahRight.com). This mixtape will give you a taste of what's to come.

Anyway, make sure you go to BestBuy or The Wiz (lol) to pick up that album. It's Oh Nine and rap is making a rally back to the forefront of music. Support good rap, even if you get down with the shitty rap. Learn to get down with both.

Kiss will be signing records at these locaitons:

Tuesday April 7th 7:00 PM

Best Buy
400 E. Fordham Rd
The Bronx, NY
718.329.8788

Thursday April 9th 4:00 PM
Basement Mix Records
439 Crescent St
Brooklyn, NY 11208
347.663.5124

Air Yeezy: Beyond the Hype

If you know something about anything, you know that the Nike x Kanye West collaboration "Air Yeezy" sneakers released in one colorway this past weekend at a premium price of $215 dollars. People lined up for these. People resold these for more money. People went crazy about these.

Check out this vid by Davy Greenberg about what transcended this weekend.

Also, click "Read More" to see my own commentary on what I think about these kicks.
